2012 Healing Heroes Golf Week

From April 21-27, 2012, the Independence Fund will be hosting up to a dozen severely injured veterans who will participate in a week of fun, bonding and golf at some of the Lowcountry's premiere facilities. This is your opportunity to come out and not only enjoy a rund of golf in a beautiful setting but to share the afternoon with these heroes as well.

The goal of HHGW (and the Independence Fund) is to raise awareness of the needs of our wounded and healing veterans of the wars of Irag and Afghanistan and to provide these veterans with the services and equipment necessary to improve their quality of life. A secondary goal of HHGW is to raise $17,000 to buy one paramobile device so that these veterans can play and enjoy golf and other activities.

2011 has come to an end...

On the Green...with Pro David Wilding

We have been very pleased since our 2011 Grand Opening and believe it was a wonderful beginning to a very special club. 2011 has offered the nurturing of many traditions and relationships that provided extensive new programming for all ages and abilities.

This Summer has been extremely encouraging and exciting! We hosted a six week long program for the local Boys and Girls Club, held numerous outings and events, and began weekly programs for Men, Ladies, Couples and Twilight Golf.

In addition to the Golf Club's success, a Professional staff member has also triumphed! Jordan Pomeranz participated in the 60th South Carolina Open and shot a 66 on the final day to come from three shots back and WIN the event! Congratulations Jordan!

We hope you can make plans to join us in 2012!

2011 Dream 18 Winner!

No. 16, Hilton Head Lakes (12th), Hardeeville, SC  par 5   518 / 485 / 460 / 420
The pleasures of a private lake with community docks and open water for boating and kayaking draw active families to this Hardeeville haven. There’s a “summer fun” theme at the Lake Club, a residents-only fitness-and-sports center with pools, a small waterpark, plus tennis and basketball courts.
Golfers enjoy an inspiring and possibly daunting layout (if they play it from way back at 7,300 yards) crafted by Tom Fazio II. We’re saluting the strategic ingenuity young Tommy crafted into the par-5 12th hole, which is clustered among holes that are rated as No. 16, 14 and 18 on the handicap chart—i.e.,  definite birdie holes.
Therefore, par is a good number on the three-shot 12th, which you approach from the left side of the fairway to skirt hazards. The green has a half-pipe contour, so avoid leaving it between you and the pin on your putt. Send me  more information about Hilton Head Lakes!2011 Golf Course Home Magazine Dream 18
